Why is Saddle Fit important?

Proper saddle fit is critical to your horse’s comfort, performance, and long-term spinal health. Even a well-conditioned horse can develop pain, compensation patterns, and movement dysfunction if the saddle creates uneven pressure or restricts natural motion.

As part of my animal chiropractic care, I offer comprehensive saddle fit evaluations to assess:

  • Pressure distribution across the thoracic spine

  • Symmetry and balance of the saddle

  • Clearance and scapular freedom

  • Rider influence on spinal loading

  • Signs of compensation or guarding patterns

By addressing both the horse and the equipment, we create a more complete solution. Adjusting the spine without correcting saddle mechanics can limit progress. My goal is to improve performance, reduce strain, and support long-term structural health through a movement-first approach.
